On October 6, 2022, M28 ministry supporters and friends will gather at The West Shore Country Club for our for a night of food, fellowship, and fundraising as we swing for the fences to support individuals in need throughout Central Pennsylvania!

This special gala dinner features special guest, eight-time All Star, Darryl Strawberry as our evening’s keynote speaker!

Darryl Strawberry is not only well-known for his baseball career, in which he was a three-time World Series champion, but also for his candidness about his struggles with substance use disorders and battle with cancer. Through those challenges, Strawberry found his faith. Now, as an ordained Minister, he travels the country sharing his story to inspire others to seek out the transforming powers of the gospel.

That is why M28 Ministry, which is a faith-based, community conscious movement to help people find their way in life, selected Strawberry as the keynote speaker for its charity gala on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill. The gala kicks off at 5:30 pm with hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by dinner and the program at 6:30 pm.

M28 focuses on moving people from poverty to stability to community through programs such as a food pantry, life coaching for those in recovery, and household goods donations through their House2Home project.

“Darryl Strawberry embodies much of the same principles that guide our organization,” said Jimmy Schambach, Executive Director of M28. “We are excited and humbled to have him speak at our gala, showing that there is always a light in the darkness if you have faith. All proceeds from this year’s gala will go toward supporting individuals across central Pennsylvania who need assistance in finding their way in life. A little encouragement and trust go a long way!”
